RQAW completed the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Added Travel Lanes project along US 36/Rockville Road, beginning at Shiloh Park Drive and terminating approximately 1,500 feet east of Raceway Road for a total length of approximately 1.1 miles. The RQAW Environmental Team completed an extensive public involvement program that included several community advisory committee (CAC) meetings, emergency response meetings, public information meetings and a public hearing. The public involvement program was a success for the project as there was zero public controversy at the end of the environmental process and an overwhelming support of the project from the public. Additional environmental services associated with this project included completing the red flag investigation, agency coordination, “waters of the US” report, noise analysis, endangered species coordination, Section 4(f) coordination, and minimizing impacts to historic resources to achieve a “No Adverse Effect” Section 106 finding. RQAW worked with INDOT and FHWA to secure a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to allow the project to proceed.
