Landscape Architecture

Connecting communities and nature.

Matthews | DCCM’s landscape architectural services are focused on a connection between people and their environment. Through integrated, sustainable and thoughtful design, our landscapes provide unique and stimulating experiences that are both functional and sensitive to the environment. Our sustainable design practices are the foundations to maintaining and transforming the natural environment.

More practically, landscape architecture provides essential infrastructure to a project. It can help prevent soil erosion, clean storm water, encourage groundwater recharge, and add shade. As communities continue to expand and reduce the existing natural landscape, our landscape architectural services strive to reduce water use, put the “right plant in the right place, reduce the heat island effect, and promote sustainable spaces for the future.

Additionally, as a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pre-qualified firm, we bring expertise in landscape architecture to projects, ensuring essential infrastructure elements that prevent soil erosion, purify stormwater, and promote sustainability.

As part of our expertise, we have a registered Arborist on staff who has performed numerous site analysis to determine tree species, tree health, and risk assessment, along with helping clients reduce tree mitigation costs.
