Washington County Jail

The Washington County Jail project created an opportunity for innovation because the proposed site would require being built up over fifteen feet to accommodate the proposed facility. RQAW determined that this would have a significant impact on the construction schedule. To mitigate this impact, RQAW designed the entire facility with prefabricated components. The jail was constructed of modular cells, modular dayroom walls and a modular elevated central control. This approach allowed the site work to be completed while the modular components were constructed in a factory off site, therefore condensing the construction schedule.
