Oliver Avenue Over the White River

INDIANAPOLIS, IN

Bridging the gap between historic integrity and long-term serviceability

Challenge: Prior to rehabilitation, the structure deteriorated to the point where it was rated as Structurally Deficient, which threatened the bridge’s long-term function as a vital connection in downtown Indianapolis.

Solution: RQAW | DCCM took great care to preserve the integrity of the bridge by ensuring that construction work was completed without changing the appearance of the bridge or the overall concept of the nearly 100-year-old structure. While safety and structural improvements were completed to meet ADA standards, RQAW | DCCM was able to restore the structure’s full capacity to serve the community while preserving its notable and historic elements.
