Franklin Township Fire Station 16

Washington, IN

RQAW | DCCM was selected by DPW to design two fire stations due to our relationship and familiarity with the expectations and processes of the City of Indianapolis. Indianapolis Fire Station No. 16 is a new facility consisting of three-bay apparatus bays, living quarters, office areas, storage, EMS support spaces, and fitness rooms. This facility was designed to include enhanced health and safety standards for the firefighters living in the dorm. One of these enhancements included a separate gear storage room that is ventilated outside to avoid circulation of carcinogens within the building. The station was designed with traditional fire station features and materials to complement its surrounding neighborhood. Fire Station No. 16 is located on the south side of the city in Franklin Township.
