US 36 over White Lick Creek
INDOT Crawfordsville District
RQAW | DCCM led this bridge replacement project on US 36 westbound over White Lick Creek. The project replaced a two-span reinforced concrete arch with a continuous composite prestressed concrete hybrid bulb-tee beam bridge. RQAW | DCCM provided a complex maintenance-of-traffic scheme to accommodate several intersections and two trail crossings within the project area. Throughout project development, RQAW | DCCM overcame riverbank failure near the bridge, which required significant modifications to the trail running under the new and existing bridge. Following these modifications, our team adjusted the project scope to incorporate new trail construction near the site, significantly impacting the anticipated MOT scheme. RQAW | DCCM coordinated with the City of Avon and the INDOT Crawfordsville District to deliver a hydraulically sound bridge replacement project on time and within budget.
